HALCYON was established in 1998 as a purpose-built residential research facility.
MERCY Systems was installed as the facility's primary management and monitoring system in 1999.
Since installation, MERCY has been responsible for monitoring environmental conditions, maintaining facility operations, coordinating staff activities, and assisting with resident care.

MERCY is an integrated management system designed to coordinate the many services required to maintain a controlled residential environment.
MERCY continuously monitors facility conditions and responds to identified needs.
This includes environmental regulation, security monitoring, scheduling, medical notifications, residential services, and emergency response.
